*Signed by Jane* Mixed Media for Cloth: Paper and Metal Leaf Lamination — Volume I

from $38.00
sold out

We are excited to announce the first in a series of three books, slated to be available over the next 18 months. Intended as versatile guides to the multitude of techniques that can be used to print and embellish fabric, this series will become your go to resource.

First up: Mixed Media for Cloth: Laminating with Paper and Metal Leaf — Volume I.

Based on material I have been teaching for 20 years, this is an exciting new version with updated information, full descriptions of materials and processes, and full-color, glorious examples.

Laminating is the term we use for attaching papers and metal leaf to a fabric surface. Through a series of steps, portions of the paper are removed, creating enticing visual effects and textures.

You will learn:

  • How to choose fabrics and papers that are perfect for the process

  • How to transfer entire images using gel medium

  • How to use tools to transfer selectively in order to add pattern

  • How to work with a variety of metal leaf techniques on both sheer and heavier fabrics

  • How to layer and combine laminated effects

  • How and when to embellish your fabrics

  • Cleaning and caring for pieces that incorporate lamination

The exclusive Artists’ Gallery includes inspiring works from artists who use lamination in their work.

  • 80 pages

  • 8.5 x 11.5

  • Full color

Also available in limited numbers as a Collector’s Edition!

Each Collector’s Edition includes a gold seal designation and a set of samples personally made by Jane. Each sample is 6” x 6”.

Expected publishing date January 2023.
