Community and conversation are my self-care right now.
With that in mind, I will be hosting three one-hour long conversations in January.
We’re calling it the January Salon.
Join fiber artist and author Jane Dunnewold for the first session of our three-part January salon series exploring the divine feminine, creativity, and the power of community during challenging times.
In this conversation, Jane explores:
• Archetypes and duality — Understanding the yin and yang not as opposites, but as two sides of the same whole, like a hill with one side in light and one in shadow
• Reclaiming the divine feminine — Why embracing receptive, intuitive qualities helps restore balance in a culture that often overemphasizes productivity and achievement
• Practical ways to reconnect — Cultivating inner awareness, honoring natural cycles, creating sacred space, exploring goddesses and women role models, and releasing negative self-talk
• Creativity as birthright — How making with your hands connects you to generations of creatives and lets "the mud settle so the water is clear"
• The fourth cornerstone — Why community is essential for sustaining hope, purpose, and positive energy when facing difficult times
The second session was devoted to the Heroine’s Journey, which is to say, the journey each of us makes over the course of our lives.
I shared one of my favorite stories of a heroine’s journey and talk in more detail about the stages that are in many ways archetypal experiences.
In Session Three, we continue the discussion on building community.
