Exploring Hue - Maureen Jakubson

This is my first paper color wheel. I have always avoided painting color wheels. I could never decide on the steps between primaries. Using the color constant chips made this exercise painless. I learned that I was mixing the tertiaries too light in general. Thanks for letting us know that there is no premixed true green. I have bought several and have always had to remix them.

Here are all my ducks in a row. The repetition using a constant is helping me to find the mixed colors faster. On the dried wheels my blue green seems off to me, but it looks like the constant. Maybe it looks off because the values are darker in that part of the wheel and it is a dark day for photography. I had trouble painting tidy edges, but did better after I switched to a flat wash brush.
