Pat B.

I certainly did learn something about myself this week.  I DO NOT LIKE TO BREAK RULES!!.  Even as a child I did not rebel, it was always easier to follow the rules.  In the accounting business which I was involved with and still am to this day, you have to follow rules, creative accounting was something that I never felt comfortable with because my clients were important to me and I never wanted to see them in trouble should there be a government audit.  As a weaver, I always followed the rules in setting up the loom, threading in the correct order, etc…

This is my first experience with the expanded square and really enjoyed practicing symmetrical and asymmetrical design.  I bought the Notan book and enjoyed reading it and got a better understanding of design principles.  But, blowing up the expanded square proved to be more of a challenge then I could imagine.  It did not matter how many times I tried, I always came back to an asymmetrical design.  I will keep trying to find the rebel but it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
