Lesson Two - Gail G.

Expanding Square

This was a very useful exercise.  I have only done 7 squares so far, but I loved doing it, especially when breaking the rules.  This one is where I just cut up the blocks, turned some pieces over, some not, some placed close together, irregular shapes, expanding or not.  I like making the negative spaces as well.  It reminds me of the Snail by Picasso! or rather I know how he did it now!  I hope to have enough time to have another go, perhaps with coloured paper as well.

I am pleased that I am writing, and making lists, and setting up a routine.  So there is a chance I might catch up.  For me routine, and lists, and a certain amount of control suits me, when it is about getting into the “studio”.
