My strategy for continuing on this new path is to commit to a minimum of three full days in the studio, having an orderly workspace, to regularly clean out storage spaces, to keep my visual diary going, to play more, to write more about my ideas through brainstorming and reflective writing and to remind myself of the need to be more resilient when knock backs occur.
The image is of the work made from the 100 objects exercise. This work is the last in a body of work that will be exhibited at the end of April. It is 2.5 x .75 metres of machine embroidered lace which was made by using soluble fabric. It is called Scallop Path and was inspired by walking along the Santiago de Compostella. The scallop shell is the symbol of the pilgrim. The entire body of work is called Habitus.
